Dammit Timmies!

So Tim Horton's has decided on a smart yet kind of annoying move for their new recycling bins. Well for one it isn't just a recycling bin its an all in one bin. Paper, plastic and normal trash. But these old bins are everywhere, so they taped them shut, from just standing in line I witness more then half the people in there go up to one of these try to open it, swear and either leave their garbage on top of the bin or wander about angrily/confused until they found the new bin.

Packaging Update

I'm actually glad JVC redid the marshmallow earbud packaging. As you can see from this picture the package shrunk. It's also not bulky and oddly shaped, it makes it a pain to put up on the wall *I work at an electronics store*

Kings and Queens

New brand on the drugstore shelves called Kings and Queens, they stand out from everything else and really caught my eye a few months ago, so I snapped these pictures of them. Im a sucker for damask patterns.

Honey, Honey

The other day I found two great new products in my local tea isle. The first one is a squeezable bag type of honey, I really like the idea, seems less messy and easier to use, only wish there was a reveal on the bag somewhere.

The second one I adore, they are solidified honey hexagons, with a cute honeycomb pattern on them, just like sugar cubes but for honey! The package is a hexagon as well, really ties everything together. I was going to buy these but they were a little too overpriced : (

WOW FACE LIFTS ALL AROUND!?

Looks like Arizona has also picked up the idea of plastic bottles, though I have to say i prefer the look of the cans. These aren't bad. They might have even been around for awhile and I just never notices *shrug*

Another Face Lift!

Looks like Sobe got a facelift too! Found this a while ago and never posted it. The new bottles are plastic and ten times easier to open.

Face Lift

The Ardene's on Queen Street in Toronto got a face lift recently. It looks a lot cleaner and a lot less cluttered. It looks more mature design wise but still holds all the fun and funky items and all the great deals!

Country Style

I really love the cups from country style its so personal.

Woosh

Amazing how it doesn't take much to make a bottle stand out and be something interesting by just curving the bottle. Very elegant looking bottle I found awhile back in an LCBO.

RAGE-TASTIC

Ok, please tell me why this exists. I was walking by the Walmart and i saw this leeched to the front of it. Yeah that's a freaking Pass card thing for your credit card... USING YOUR CREDIT CARD ON A VENDING MACHINE. Listen i don't care if it's convenient, if you don't have enough change to buy a goddam drink then don't go putting it on your freaking credit card. Better yet, go the hell into the damn Walmart and buy a case of goddamn pop

New Packaging

New Packaging for Jergens Soaps LOVE IT, simple and just darn nice looking!

Sneaky

So the other day I went to go buy some shampoo. Head and Shoulders is one of the only shampoo's that doesn't make may hair gross. Anyways, I went to reach for a bottle and I noticed something. Rexall not only has a spitting image of Head and Shoulder's bottle and design, but it just so happens to be placed in between every other bottle of the well known brand.

You sneaky sneaky bastards....I have a feeling more then half of the people who walk into the store pick up a bottle without even realizing it's not what they wanted because it looks so similar. Honestly, what a tactic, even if it is pretty damn sneaky of them.

Even if someone were to notice the difference (as there are sale tags right under it) they might just grab the cheaper one anyways because 'hey it looks the same, it must be the same and its cheaper!'

But no, I still took the Head and Shoulders Brand, maybe it was out of spite....

More Curves

From the same Brand as below except this time it's their Olive Oil. Really loving the curves in these bottles. Elegant and simple.
They make spray on oil look classy.

Pucker Up

I've had this picture for awhile now and thought I'd share it.
I just really like the design for this lemonade, it's so cute and smart.

Take Out

Gotta say I never put much thought into take away containers. They're usually just plain white styrofoam ones. But Boston Pizza decided to personalize theirs. It's simple and it works.

Maynards

These are the new packages for Maynards. I gotta say way to go on the moving away from plastic bit. Two thumbs up from me. I don't ever recall seeing the watermelon candies packaged for shopping market use before. Only seen them at 7/11 and bulk barn in loose form. So it's nice to see a version for the supermarket. On one hand the design for the watermelons candy is nice and bold and fun....while on the other the sour patch redesign is really bad.... like I mean reaaaaally bad. Please click the image to see a bigger version. I think you will see what I mean right away. Those faces are just creepy, the old ones were waaaay better...like common people think before you make things

Twist it

Kind of liking the new design for the Aquafina vitamin water.... well the bottom of it at least... the stop looks kind of fat *shrug*

Too much

Piss off of the day #1
Ok.... so not the greatest picture of it but this packaging pissed me off (center) ... ALOT
on the left hand side of the package is the product, this tiny little dinky digital picture frame....it's about an inch in size.... BUT LOOK AT ALL THAT FREAKING PACKAGING PLASTIC! (click the image for enlarged version)

I'm sorry but it's crap like this that is screwing us over. This is so unnecessarily packaged. I know they can reduce it by more then half but they don't. It's kind of upsetting....

Why did they find it necessary to repeat the product in picture form? Showing that it can display a picture? I think the product title gave that away thanks. The need to show a picture can easily be solved by putting a stick on picture on top of the actual product screen, this has been done very often and it works people TRY IT jeez...

P.S - so not worth 22 bux, for shame, FOR SHAME...

*Snrk*

This made me laugh and cry at the same time..... why? LOOK AT THAT FUN AND HIP TOTALLY RELATABLE RAPPER ON THE PACKAGING OH YEAH! *facepalm*

I honestly find this incredible cheesy like my god, why would you think that a kid would find this cool and thus buy it. I don't even understand why they did this. WHO DOESN'T LIKE JOS LOUIS? People are always gonna be buying these. I guess they were trying to put a face to the name? I dunno ....

I mean to me it feels like they are narrowing the target market...before the packaging was more of a diverse market...I can't really see a little girl picking this up anymore and thinking 'THIS IS SO COOL AND RELATABLE I NEED THIS!" no a little girl is more likely to say "FFFF CHOCOLATE! I NEED THIS!"

I like the open flap on these boxes.

R.I.P Lee Alexander McQueen (1969-2010)

God I know it happened a bit ago but I have been too busy to write my two cents about this. When I found out I was absolutely heart broken. Alexander McQueen was one of my biggest inspirations, I adored this man and his work.
I'm still not over it, I don't think I'll ever really be over it. He influenced and changed the fashion world so greatly and he will surely be missed. My deepest sympathy to his family...

Well it happened...
Yep, Apples newest release the iPAD
check it out here: http://www.apple.com/ipad/

To be honest...it's just a giant iTouch/iPhone. Though don't get me wrong it's pretty darn awesome! But jeez the name! Reminds me of feminine hygiene products.

I actually find the concept by Patrycjusz Brzezinski a lot more interesting.

Regardless still kind of excited about trying out the iPad.
